Bio21 Institute appoints new GM

Dr Veronica Borrett has been appointed to the new role as General Manager at the Bio21 Institute, effective Wednesday 2 July 2008.
Veronica joins us from the Defence Science and Technology Organisation (DSTO) where she has had an extensive career in a number of senior roles in the area of research and development. Most recently, Veronica has been the Principal Research Scientist responsible for leading the DSTO's scientific programs relevant to chemical, biological and radiological national security and counter terrorism. She also has advisory roles with the Australian Defence Force in relation to major acquisitions.
Complemented with a PhD in Chemistry and Masters in Science, Veronica brings a breadth of experience and skills to this senior management and leadership role. Veronica will be working closely with the Director and members of the Executive/Strategic Committee to fulfil the Institute's mission and vision. As General Manager, she will lead the administrative and technical functional areas working with senior managers to ensure the successful long term operation of the Bio21 Institute.
