Young postdoc scientist attends 14th World Congress of Food Science Technology

10 Oct 08

Congratulations to Lydia Ong (Postdoc with Sally Gras, member of the Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering group at Bio21) who received one of seven Young Scientist Awards to attend the International Union of Food Science and Technology (IUFoST) 14th World Congress of Food Science Technology later this month. As well as fully funding her travel, the award provides Lydia with the opportunity to make a 15 minute presentation of her research findings following a plenary session. The award is provided by The Governing Council of the IUFoST and The Chinese Institute of Food Science and Technology (CIFST). Lydia will be making two presentations on work she is currently doing at Bio21, one of which is entitled "Application of Confocal Laser Scanning Microscopy and Cryo Scanning Electron Microscopy in Cheese Microstructure Study". This award is closely followed by one from the Australia Institute of Food Science and Technology, also supporting her attending this conference. Find out more about the Gras team and their work.
