Roger Curtain is responsible for the FEI Quanta FEG Esem, Gatan Alto Cryo, the XL30 SEM with Oxford Isis EDS system, and the associated sputter and evaporative coating systems. His Industry consulting work is undertaken mainly in the area of microanalysis. Roger has a keen interest in training young researchers to safely and productively use the scanning microscopes, a main focus. Roger Curtain's BioRoger has a BSc in Metallurgy from the University of Melbourne (1982) and after working in the Biotechnology and Mining research fields joined the G. K. Williams CRC for Extractive Metallurgy providing analytical support in SEM-EDS, XRF, electronic instrumentation, high temperature measurements and software development. He was a founding member of the Bio21 EM unit with Dr Sergey Rubanov. Roger's main interest is in the field of Energy Dispersive Microanalysis (EDS) and he is a member of AMAS (Australian Microbeam Analysis Society). |
