As a diverse and active scientific community, consisting of over 600 academic researchers from the University’s Faculty of Science (Schools of BioSciences, Chemistry and Physics), Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences (Departments of Biochemistry and Pharmacology and Microbiology and Immunology, Melbourne Dental School and Baker Department of Cardiometabolic Health) as well as the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology (Schools of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering and Computing and Information Systems), as well as industry groups and platform technology facilities, the Bio21 Institute is a unique space that brings encourages and fosters interdisciplinary connections and collaborations.
We seek to do this through internal community events, such as our Bio21 morning teas, but also through the weekly departmental seminars.

Bio21 Institute Morning Teas
Bio21 Morning Teas are social events for all members of the Bio21 Institute to encourage a sense of community and an opportunity to fundraise for a particular cause. The Director, Michael Parker presents notices and there is also the opportunity to introduce new research groups to the rest of the Institute.

The Bio21 Institute has been the proud home of innovative and groundbreaking scientific research in Melbourne since 2005. In this time, many of our former students, researchers and tenants have gone on to achieve great things in industry, academia, and in laboratories around Australia and the world.
All alumni of our institution, as well as our philanthropic supporters and any interested members of the public, are encouraged to connect with the Bio21 community by contacting us to be on our mailing lists for Bio21 news and events circulars.
